an-tn-nae (Adam Ohana)

Origin: Born and raised in the NYC
Years Playing:
Since I was a wee sparkle in my mom’s eye.
Style:
Anything that moves me. I tend to dislike when music becomes all classifiable, it tends ot get boring, I like taking pieces from across the board and putting them into a blender. You just might say Acid Crunk.

The track/DJ/party that made me want to be a DJ was:
The parties at Club USA, Tunnel, and Limelight; It was just epic, no rules and the party never ended..

Influences:
I take influences from all around me, musical and non-musical, the sum of these, however small or large, finds itself into my music.

I got my first break:
I created a lot of my own breaks in my life. From owning my own music distribution company & supplying most of the DJ record stores in the country, to managing several cutting edge music labels.

Some DJs I like playing with are:
Freq Nasty, Bassnectar, Dov, Laura, el Papa Chango, Glitch Mob, Lil John etc… basically the family of DJs who make SF what it is.

Favorite thing about the SF scene:
The openness to try new sounds. SF is exposed to a lot of influences and appreciates  creativity, which is a rarity in this world.

Least favorite thing about the SF scene:
It can get cliquey at times.

My favorite SF party is/was:
I am biased so I will say Get Freaky…  Zero Ground, which happened at the Regency, was pretty insane. Chinese New Year party by Raindance is also an epic party.

My favorite Club to play in is:
1015 when its Get Freaky. Otherwise, I prefer one offs at places like Cellspace, and the likes.

If I could put together MY dream music festival, the Entertainment would be:
All my friends who play music together away from the madness that is this reality.

If I couldn't play records I would probably be a professional:
I am involved in music and have been in multiple ways and always have been. I cant see any other life path, though i was almost a preschool teacher.

I want to thank these people for helping me get this far:
Orion. He keeps me focused, and constintly pushing forward

What you want people to know and we didn't ask:
Does any of this really matter? No,because we are consuming our Earth to oblivion.

My motto is:
"Subvert the current paradigm"
