The track/DJ/party that made me want to be a DJ was:
I remember making mixed tapes when i was seven. I would record the radio on cassete, then dub on a seperate tape. I would stop the music seconds before the dj came on to make my tapes all music. If I had to choose the DJ that did it for me was... 1988, Dj Magic Mike- bass is the name of the game. I mowed many to purchase this record. My mom hated me listening to "rap crap". I could not get enough of it.

Influences:
Any thing funky....blues, rock, new orleans bands during mardi gras, old school hip hop...the funk and disco flavored beats are the best

I got my first break:
In Boulder with main man, Bennett. We somehow convinced the Blues bar at the Hotel Boulderado to let us spin on the house sound system on wed. nights. We rocked that place so many nights. We could not afford turntables with pitch control so we used our fingers to match the beat. Records were way more important than decks at age 19.

Some DJs I like playing with are:
Anyone who enjoys playing with me and does not break my headphones, needles, turntables, mixer or scratch my records.....you know who you are.

Favorite thing about the SF scene:
All the outdoor events and the massive amount of talented individuals i encounter. I feel more at home in the bay area than I ever had.

Least favorite thing about the SF scene:
Drinking ends before 2am, street cleaning tickets, promoters misspelling my name... mancup? I am not an athletic supporter.

My favorite SF party is/was:
Breakfast of Champions....If you've gone, you know. Love Parade rocked, I gotta give Miss E props on all the talented Eklektic djs back in the day....alot of inspiration there. Boat parties and community.

My favorite club to play in is:
Mighty, Sublounge, End-up... pretty much anywhere that does not request main stream

If I could put together MY dream music festival, the Entertainment would be:
Tool, Pantera, Chibo Matto, Coldcut, Kool Keith, DJ Quick, KRS-one,Jungle Brothers, five fingers of funk, mad professor, papa grows funk, LTJ Bukem. Thats just today...could be different tomorrow.

If I couldn't play records I would probably be a professional:
Soccer coach or a postman
